Mission and Vision

We exist to delight in, display and declare the glory of God, equipping his people to spread that delight to all nations through Jesus Christ.

Delight Our primary purpose in life is to glorify God by delighting in Him and in what He has done for us through Christ. We rejoice in and worship Him, and respond appropriately to His call on our lives.

Display John 13:35 says, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” We believe that we best display God’s glory by living in unity and community with each other, and by loving the lost world around us.

Declare One of our primary missions in life is to declare God’s glory by our words and deeds. We are called to share the Good News of salvation through Christ to our neighbors and to the ends of the world. We are also called to declare the Gospel to our brothers and sisters here at FBC Durham, encouraging each other along as we journey the Christian life.

Equip We long to equip every one of our members to become disciple-makers. We believe that all Christians are called not only to grow personally in knowledge and love for the Lord, but also to help lead others along in this journey.
